Taylor Momsen: More Inappropriate Than Miley?

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen recoils at Miley Cyrus comparisons, but she just pulled a Miley by ticking off the Parents Television Council with her antics.
Cyrus’ new, overtly sexual video for “Who Owns My Heart” sparked outcry from the group, which criticized the example she sets for young, female fans.
Now it’s a gun-toting, lingerie-clad Momsen, also 17, on the cover of Revolver magazine that has the PTC up in arms. Just like her nemesis Miley …

The PTC says that by making guns and violence seem sexy, Taylor contributes to the epidemic “of kids’ overexposure to hyper-sexualized media content, which has been linked to depression, eating disorders, and sexual risk-taking.”
She can act hard all she wants, but this Taylor-Miley comparison won’t be the last. Both are going out of their way to push the envelope and are far too young to behave in such a manner without offending people (justifiably or not).
The only real question: Who’s more inappropriate?

Miley Cyrus has come under fire for what many consider to be her overly racy new video for “Who Owns Your Heart.”
But while the singer has not commented on the flap, she may have issued a subtle response during an outing in Los Angels this week.
The 17-year old joined her mom and sister for breakfast at Paty’s Restaurant in Toluca, showing up for the occasion in pigtails and braids. Might this have been an attempt for Miley to reconnect with her young fans again, as the style is a far cry from the more mature looks she flaunted over the summer? Do you like it?

Miley Cyrus, Mother Raise Cancer Awareness

It pains us when we can’t mock Miley Cyrus.
Fortunately, the singer gave us (and the Parents’ Television Council) plenty to go on about in her new music video.
But mother Tish Cyrus recently spoke to USA Today about how she and her daughter got involved with City of Hope’s “All In Week” last week to raise cancer awareness among mothers and young women. We can only give them props for that action.
“It’s scary when you have girls, and you hear how many women of all ages, including the young, are affected by cancer every year,” said Tish, who lost her father and grandmother to the disease.
Elsewhere in the article, Miley’s mom talked about her and her family’s involvement in this important cause. Excerpts from the interview follow:
On City of Hope: Children’s cancer was something that Miley was really passionate about. It’s so devastating to see how many people are affected by cancer every year. One of the first things Miley did with City of Hope was to team up with Disney on The Concert for Hope at the Gibson Amphitheatre with the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. For each ticket sold, $1 was given to City of Hope. I believe she raised over $1 million.
On settling an example: Miley has always believed that if we all do something small, you can make a huge difference. When visiting a children’s hospital at home in Tennessee or being involved with City of Hope, it’s about getting out to spread that message. Also, teens can make a difference by setting an example for young kids. That’s been the case with our youngest, Noah, who’s 10. She looks up to Brandi and Miley and the work they do. She’s planning to go to Haiti for a mission trip.
On who inspires Miley: Her dad. In the early ’90s when he was touring, we’d do 290 shows in 350 days, and I never remember one when he didn’t spend time with special-needs kids, meeting them after the show. He’d also give all the gifts he’d been given at each show to local children’s hospitals, even if he had to drop them off at midnight. Miley was just a little girl then, but those things she remembers.

Following weeks of teasing, we no longer need to ask about The Big Bang.
What is it? It’s a single from Rock Mafia, the music video for which features Miley Cyrus getting steamy with actor Kevin Zegers… set against a car crash.
“Rock Mafia is my family and there’s nothing that means more than creating with them,” Miley said. “The video is unique and, honestly, was a life changing experience. This song means a lot to me.”

Liam Hemsworth: Cheating on Miley with Yolanda Vendy?

Sources say Miley Cyrus got back together with Liam Hemsworth because she was seeking a sense of stability in the face of her parents’ divorce.
So we wonder how the singer will take this news: the Australian actor was spotted Down Under this weekend, attending the Myer Derby After Dark Party at a nightclub – and he wasn’t alone.
Part-time model Yolanda Vendy met Liam that day and was by his side all night, onlookers confirm, as the blonde was asked if she and Hemsworth were friends. Her mysterious response? If that’s what you want to call it.
Vendy (pictured, middle) and Hemsworth reportedly spent most of the night whispering to each other and were two of the last guests to leave the festivities.
This doesn’t mean Liam was unfaithful to Miley, of course. For her sake, considering all she’s going through in her personal life, we hope he’s remaining loyal. But Hemsworth should know that perception is often reality and should be taking extreme measures these days to avoid circumstances such as this.
